• Q. Will I get the same results even after inserting the sample applied kit in the machine after a while?

  We recommend dropping the sample on the kit and putting it in the device within 3 minutes. Over time, the results may not be correct. (the color of the test band will change and the test result will be lower.)

• Q. Is only serum valid as a sample?

  The types of samples that can be used (serum, plasma, whole blood) vary depending on the kit. Please refer to the kit’s instructions before use.

  For serum, you can obtain it by allowing the blood in a plain tube to clot for an extended period and then performing centrifugation, or by using an SST (serum separating tube, yellow top tube). Apply the blood evenly along the walls of the tube, allow it to clot, and then centrifuge it to obtain the serum.

  [Note: How to Obtain Serum] ※ This method is commonly used and can be applied to typical dogs without coagulation disorders. In some patients, the blood may not clot within the expected time frame; in such cases, you will need to wait until it clots.

  1. Prepare a 3cc syringe and a tube for the blood (SST is recommended, or plain tube if SST is not available).
  2. Draw 1-2 ml of blood from a vein such as the jugular vein, cephalic vein, or saphenous vein.
  3. Place the drawn blood into the tube.
  4. Wait for the blood to clot (5 minutes in SST, 20 minutes in a plain tube), then centrifuge it (centrifuge at 3500-5000 rpm for 5 minutes, or 5 minutes in a centrifuge where rpm cannot be set).
  5. Using a pipette or dropper, transfer the clear liquid (serum) separated at the top to a new tube.
• Q. Can hyperlipidemic or hemolytic serum be used?

  Yes, such samples are valid.

• Q. Is it okay to store the sample for later use?

  Samples should be refrigerated if used within 24 hours, otherwise must be stored frozen. Test results are influenced by temperature; thus serum must be kept in room temperature for 15-30 minutes. (20-30 minutes if the sample was frozen)

• Q. Can I store the buffer applied serum sample for later use?

  If serum is mixed in the buffer, 2 hours at room temperature will not affect the test result. However, just before dropping it into the kit, shake the mixed sample thoroughly, discard the initial 10 drops, and drop 3 drops into the kit. (sufficiently shake the sample just before applying it on the kit)

• Q. Can I stop the test?

  It is possible to stop the test before its completion. The instructions are as follows:

  1. In case that you clicked STANDBY button on web site but did not started on AniScanner device:
  - Close popup detail result or progress window on web site
  - In the test result list on main page, there are areas displaying "..." mark. If you hover the mouse cursor there, you will see a trash icon.
  - If you click the icon, a alert asking if you proceed to stop and delete the test will be shown.
  - Click OK button to stop and delete the test.

  2. In case that you clicked STANDBY button on web site and started the scan on AniScanner device:
  - You cannot stop the test in this case, but you can stop the test on AniScanner device.
  - If you started the scan on device, you can see stop button on the main screen on the device. Touch the button to stop the test.
  - The test that has been stopped by AniScanner device will be shown as error.
  - This can be deleted on web site as described above.
